Meditation for Life Acceleration
Meditation for Life Acceleration
Where ever you go in the world, if you choose to look back far enough into the history, you will undoubtedly find sacred rituals & practices. One of the main reasons for this is that our ancestors understood the laws of the universe, the nature of the mind, how to transcend the mind through these daily rituals & practices & why it was important to do so. This being said, one of the main challenges I currently see in the world at large is the undervaluing of things such as meditation, breathwork, energy practices, etc., which ultimately keeps people in lower levels of consciousness whereby they are attracted to low level attractor patterns & vibrations such as anger, needing to be right, addictions, the victim mentality & more. Today’s guest on the show is a returning brother of mine who is an expert in the realms of yoga, meditation & inner work as a whole. As soon as I met him in the Enlifted Coaching system, I could tell he was the poster boy for downregulation & I was immediately excited to get to know him more & learn from him. Over the past year & a half, we’ve had the opportunity to share space in person two times & the presence he embodies has truly helped me re-establish inner work as a top value of mine & reap the benefits of a calmer, more balanced life as a whole.

Moments of Clarity Podcast Episode 44
Choosing Expansion
Choosing Expansion
Today on Moments of Clarity, I speak to Jeff Lester.
Jeff or Jefe as he is affectionately known is a yoga and meditation instructor, a sacred spaces facilitator and a coach. Before the pandemic, Jeff was a self-described nomad travelling around the world to conduct his work and connect with people. Jeff still finds immense joy with his work but has moved mostly into the online space, based in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
During our conversation we discuss Jeff's work in the age of Covid, how to overcome overstimulation, reducing fear and anxiety, meditation, getting into nature, finding Yoga, pivotal moments and aligning the self.
We delve into Jeff’s childhood, intrinsic vs external motivation, choosing not to sacrifice passion and love for safety, practice as the pathway to transformation, the importance of paying attention, vulnerability and being humble.
Jeff explores how language shapes us, how our choice of words solidifies our story, the benefits of expansion over contraction, the failure of outcome oriented approaches, paradigm shifts and shattering existing perceptions, empowering ourselves in the face of expectation and fear, being open and fluid and he shares a moment of clarity.
Moments of Clarity is a podcast that aims to explore the inherent goodness of human beings. Through longform conversations with inspiring people, MoC looks to find out how people come to not only identify their values and but live by them each and every day. It is time to put the outrage and certainty behind us and start to actually listen to others and use their stories and beliefs to help understand our own values. Moments of Clarity is created, edited and hosted by Matthew Sortino. Sortino is a teacher based in Melbourne, Australia.

How Language May Help or Hinder our Manifestations
How Language May Help or Hinder our Manifestations
This week Ashley is joined by Jeff Lester to discuss the power of language and how we speak to ourselves. I’m sure you’ve heard cliche phrases like “what you think is what you become” and “your thoughts become your reality” and while these phrases aren’t wrong, we often leave out a big part of the equation beyond the mind and into the physical and that’s how we speak. To ourselves and to others. Jeff has been on a mission over the last several years to resolve the stories that have caused him pain and suffering and has seen first hand how language can help or hinder our manifestations. For the first 20 years of his life, he was a “victim” of the circumstances around him. He was morbidly overweight and allowed the stress from family drug abuse, verbal abuse, and suicides surrounding him to manifest itself in the form of 120 pounds of extra fat on my body. Until enough was enough, and some much needed separation allowed him to step firmly into my own and say NO MORE! His fate completely changed the moment he chose strength from those adversities instead of self doubt and pity.
Ashley and Jeff discuss unconscious triggers, conflict awareness, projection and why we buy into the belief that other people influence and have power over us, bringing responsibility back to oneself to resolve issues and conflict, how language plays a role in manifestation, finding empowerment and taking ownership of our lives, why we frequently cut ourselves off from the unknown, and much more goodness!

We met over the airwaves, with him currently in Atlanta, Georgia and me in London:
The simplicity of creating an online community that can be sustained with something as a simple emoji
How physical movement can be a great foundation for really bringing us back into our bodies
How we overachieve to be admired by others, on the path to realising that we truly are enough just as we are
Grandiosity and judgement being the close cousin of low self esteem
And of course… joy

Jeff Lester wants nothing more than to share his passion and love for self enquiry with you. To offer you a vigorous and authentic yogic experience that will inspire you to ask yourself new questions about what’s possible in your life. New Normal Podcast Episode 64
Self-discovery and health transformation through exercise, diet and yoga
Self-discovery and health transformation through exercise, diet and yoga
In this episode you’ll hear an inspiring story of transformation through a lifestyle based on a healthy plant, body and mind focus.
Jeffrey Lester, originally from Atlanta in the USA, transformed himself from a people-pleasing, academic achievement-focused and obese young adult to a mature, wise, kind and purpose-focused man living a lifestyle of service, exploration and fulfillment, which he does by traveling the world teaching yoga and meditation retreats.
I hope you will be intrigued by Jeff’s story as he describes his traumatic childhood, which due to an unhealthy relationship with food, led him to become significantly overweight, weighing close to 130kg. As he buried himself in high school and university studies, aiming to achieve academically, Jeff realised he was very unhappy with his life situation.
He had begun to be more physically active, which then led to him eating more healthy food and becoming passionate about running group fitness classes. When one day a friend told him “if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life” he started ruminating on what he really should do with his life. When he then had to make an important decision about his mother’s life a spiritual awakening began.
Without spoiling the story, Jeff is now touring and exploring the world, leading yoga and meditation retreats, and seems abundantly happy doing what he describes as his life mission.
My wife Claire and I became friends with Jeff at a retreat hosted by Rich Roll and Julie Piatt a couple of years ago. When Jeff told us he was coming to Melbourne earlier this year, he stayed with us and led a cacao ceremony at the yoga studio we attend, a very profound spiritual event for both of us. We also took the opportunity to record this long form conversation for the show.
As we approach Christmas and the New Year, when many of us reflect on our purpose, our direction and our goals, this podcast should really plant some seeds for how you might be able to be more healthy, fit and fulfilled.
Please enjoy hearing the story of Jeff Lester’s powerful journey of self-discovery.
Live well, feel well, do well.
